This past week, Mitch competed in the Pinewood Derby. We had a blast spending time together designing the car, cutting it out, sanding it, then giving it to Rick Ashcroft to finish! (thanks Rick). Rick had greased up wheels and designer paint to go with our winning design. Mitch took 1st place among among his fellow Wolves and 4th place overall. Great job Mitch!! It took me back to my days as a Cub Scout when my Uncle Reed designed me a banana car (thanks Reed) that won best design that year. Not sure how fast it was but it sure looked good! Todd Shaw, David Baugh, Chris Bennett, Tony Child, Danny Gibson, Brian Palmer, Chris Crawford et al--they had nuthin' on me!

Randy - who did you hire to make that car for you? We need to make one for AJ's powderpuff derby and could use someone with skills!!

What about Jeff Dubois?
So much fun. I remember Jake's first year Jonathan and him (mostly Jonathan) spent so much time on that car. Second year a little less, and so on. The last year Jonathan wasn't able to help him as much, and Jake took first place. It was sweet.

I miss this handsome little guy (not talking about you here, Randy!) What a great way to spend time with your son. You are superdad! The car looks awesome. Congrats, Mitch!
